Long throw, compact 10" driver for small boxes MONACOR BLACKBASS-10 2x4 Ohm/250w Coils Carbon Fibre Cone 10" Long Throw Sub Woofer This listing is for one (1) used twin coil sub-bass driver, featuring excellent linearity and fast response and an astonishing 30 mm cone travel capability, which is 50% greater than the current version of this driver ! This one comes from the CARPOWER a division of Monacor. Enclosures as small as only 25 litres can be used with excellent acoustic results due to their characteristics, long throw coil, rubber roll cone surround, and tough die-cast aluminium frame construction; in fact, the enclosures can be hardly larger than the driver itself, and still work well, meaning that they can be incorporated into custom bass bins, sealed or ported, where only small volumes are available this is a real opportunity for those who want substantial steady bass and kick-bass but do not want the usual huge and heavy "boom box" in the boot.. This neat unit combines bass power and good electro-acoustic efficiency via large double stacked 45 oz. magnets and a high 500w power rated, air cooled 2" coil pair, wound on a heat conducting aluminium metal former, (unusually also with a ventilated spider!) So the design puts air-cooling of the coil assembly as a *priority and, in addition to that aluminium coil former with it's gold plated air access grilles in the chassis sides, there are vent holes drilled into the air gap and the centre of the magnet pole, so the harder it drives, the more airflow is achieved over the coils so the coil assembly is well cooled, aided further by the substantial aluminium frame casting, which carries heat away from the magnet and pole-piece. In fact, all the magnet metalwork is gold plated and the cone itself is fabricated from light and stiff carbon fibre. (This impressive stonking great magnet assembly is actually the same as that on the even more amazing 12" version of this speaker) *Keeping the coils as cool as possible is very important NB: whilst these were designed for use in cars and small trucks, they can also find applications in compact home cinema and Hi-fi subs.
